Transport Terms Of Use

These Transport Terms of Use apply to freight services arranged with Arise & Shine Transport / ShipAS. They are intended to clarify our standard service expectations, customer responsibilities, and common situations that may create additional charges.
By requesting, booking, or tendering freight to ShipAS, you agree to these transport terms unless different terms are confirmed in writing.
Standard Freight Service
ShipAS provides commercial dry van freight service for standard palletized or skidded freight.
Our standard service is:
Business-to-business
Dock-to-dock
Commercial pickup and delivery
Standard palletized or skidded freight
Driver remains with the truck unless otherwise arranged
Customer, shipper, or receiver provides loading and unloading equipment
Unless confirmed in writing, ShipAS does not provide residential delivery, inside delivery, floor-loaded handling, hand-bombing, driver-assist loading/unloading, or specialized equipment service.
Freight Requirements
Customers are responsible for providing accurate freight details before booking, including:
Pickup and delivery addresses
Contact names and phone numbers
Ready time and closing time
Delivery appointment requirements
Number of skids, pallets, pieces, or units
Freight dimensions and weight
Commodity description
Stackability
Customs or bonded requirements, if applicable
Any special handling instructions
Freight must be properly packaged, palletized, wrapped, labelled, and ready for safe transport unless otherwise agreed.
Maximum Payload
Standard maximum payload is 44,000 lbs, subject to legal axle weights, equipment limits, freight distribution, routing, and applicable regulations.
ShipAS may refuse or require changes to freight that cannot be safely or legally transported.
Pickup, Delivery, And Customs Time
Standard full truckload service includes up to:
1 hour at pickup
1 hour at delivery
1 hour for customs or border-related processing, where applicable
Standard LTL service includes up to:
30 minutes at pickup
30 minutes at delivery
Time beyond the included allowance may be billed as detention or waiting time.
Post-Booking Changes
Any changes, added stops, delays, service requirements, or complications that occur after booking may result in additional charges.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Added pickup or delivery stops
Appointment changes
Waiting time
Missed pickup or failed delivery
Incorrect address or contact information
Freight not ready
Refused freight
Customs or paperwork delays
Additional paperwork requirements
Driver assist
Extra equipment requirements
Rework, restacking, rewrapping, or freight correction
Route changes or out-of-route miles
Special Requirements Must Be Disclosed Before Booking
Customers must advise ShipAS before booking if the shipment involves:
Floor-loaded freight
Non-palletized freight
Non-moveable freight
Oversized freight
Blind shipments
Appointment pickup or delivery
Additional customs requirements
Driver assist
Tailgate requirements
Manual pallet jack requirements
Straps, load bars, blankets, or other equipment needs
Limited access locations
Non-commercial locations
Any unusual loading, unloading, paperwork, or site requirement
If these requirements are not disclosed before booking, additional charges may apply and service may be delayed, refused, or rescheduled.
Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for ensuring freight is ready, accessible, properly documented, and suitable for the service booked.
ShipAS is not responsible for delays, additional costs, missed appointments, customs issues, failed pickups, failed deliveries, or service disruptions caused by incomplete, inaccurate, late, or undisclosed information.
Transport Accessorial Charges
Additional services, waiting time, changes, and non-standard requirements may be billed according to the ShipAS Transport Accessorial Charges page or as otherwise quoted in writing.

ShipAS freight rates are based on the shipment details provided at the time of quoting or booking. Additional charges may apply when the shipment requires extra time, added service, additional stops, special handling, or changes after booking.
Accessorial Item: Standard Charge / Rule
These accessorial charges help keep standard freight pricing fair while covering time and work that falls outside the original booking.
Full Truckload Detention: 1 hour included at pickup and 1 hour included at delivery
Customs / Border Waiting Time: 1 hour included where applicable
LTL Waiting Time: 30 minutes included at pickup and 30 minutes included at delivery
Detention After Included Time: $100 per hour
Billing Increment: Billed in 15-minute increments after included time
TONU Truck Ordered Not Used / Missed Pickup: Starts at $150
Added Stops After Booking: Chargeable
Appointment Changes After Booking: Chargeable
Driver Assist: Chargeable
Extra Equipment: Chargeable if required and available
Additional Customs Requirements: Chargeable
Freight Not Ready: Chargeable and may result in missed pickup / TONU
Failed Delivery / Refused Freight: Chargeable
Rework, Restacking, Rewrapping: Chargeable if required
Out-of-Route Miles / Route Changes: Chargeable
Included Time
Standard full truckload service includes:
1 hour at pickup
1 hour at delivery
1 hour for customs or border processing, where applicable
Standard LTL service includes:
30 minutes at pickup
30 minutes at delivery
Time starts when the driver arrives and is available for loading, unloading, check-in, customs processing, or required site procedure.
Detention
Detention applies when the driver is delayed beyond the included time.
Detention is billed at $100 per hour, in 15-minute increments, after the included time has expired.
Detention may apply due to:
Freight not ready
Dock delays
Loading or unloading delays
Waiting for paperwork
Waiting for appointment check-in
Customs or broker delays
Receiver delays
Site access delays
Incorrect or incomplete pickup/delivery information
Truck Ordered Not Used / Missed Pickup
Truck Ordered Not Used, missed pickup, or cancelled-after-dispatch charges start at $150.
This may apply when:
Freight is not ready
Shipment is cancelled after dispatch
Pickup details are incorrect
Shipper refuses or cannot load
Required documents are missing
Driver arrives and the shipment cannot move
Shipment changes materially after dispatch
Chargeable Post-Booking Changes
Additional charges may apply for any request, issue, or change after the original booking, including:
Added pickup or delivery stops
Changed pickup or delivery location
Appointment changes
Waiting time
Redelivery
Reconsignment
Route changes
Additional customs work
Additional paperwork
Driver assist
Equipment requests
Freight correction or rework
Special Service Requirements
The following must be disclosed before booking and may be chargeable:
Floor-loaded freight
Non-palletized freight
Non-moveable freight
Blind shipments
Pickup or delivery appointments
Additional customs requirements

Unless otherwise confirmed, ShipAS quotes are based on:

Business-to-business pickup and delivery
Freight ready at scheduled pickup time
Receiver ready during agreed delivery window
Proper paperwork available before pickup
No undisclosed special handling requirements
Maximum payload of 44,000 lbs, subject to legal and equipment limits
Final Note
Most accessorial charges are avoidable with clear information before booking. If there is anything unusual about the freight, pickup, delivery, paperwork, customs process, or equipment required, let ShipAS know before the truck is dispatched.

Shipment Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipment information, including freight description, weight, dimensions, pickup and delivery addresses, contact details, appointment requirements, customs documents, broker details, and any special handling instructions.
ShipAS is not responsible for delays, additional costs, refused freight, border issues, missed appointments, or service failures caused by missing, incorrect, late, or incomplete information.
Cross-Border, Customs, and Bonded Freight
For cross-border, customs, bonded, import, export, or air cargo-related freight, customers are responsible for ensuring that all required documents, broker details, release instructions, customs information, and regulatory requirements are complete and accurate.
ShipAS may assist with transportation coordination, communication, and carrier-side documentation handling, but ShipAS is not a customs broker and does not provide legal, customs, tax, or trade compliance advice.
Border clearance, customs processing, inspections, holds, penalties, duties, taxes, and delays may be outside ShipAS control.
Pickup and Delivery Times
ShipAS works to meet agreed pickup and delivery expectations, but pickup times, delivery times, and transit times are not guaranteed unless specifically confirmed in writing.
Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, road conditions, border delays, customs processing, dock delays, equipment issues, shipper or receiver delays, incomplete information, force majeure events, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Freight Documents and Proof of Delivery
ShipAS may collect, transmit, store, or provide freight documents such as bills of lading, delivery receipts, customs documents, appointment confirmations, and proof of delivery.
Proof of delivery is provided based on available documentation and operational records. Customers should notify ShipAS promptly if they believe any document is missing or incorrect.
Cargo Claims and Liability
Cargo claims, loss, damage, delay, and liability may be governed by applicable transportation law, carrier terms, bills of lading, tariffs, insurance terms, or written agreements between the parties.
Nothing on this website expands ShipAS liability beyond what is required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing.
Customers must report any freight loss, damage, or shortage as soon as possible and provide supporting documentation.
Third-Party Services
